Will Carmelo Anthony Ever See Another NBA Game Again?

Carmelo Anthony only played in 10 games last season with the Houston Rockets. He averaged 13.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 0.5 APG, 0.7 BPG, and 0.4 APG last season. Anthony did not see another game for the rest of the season because after those 10 games, he was released and it came at a surprise for him.

It was a shock that no other NBA teams signed him. Anthony was with the Oklahoma City Thunder the year before and it didn’t work out there at well. It is very strange that no one has signed him yet this offseason.

Carmelo Anthony reached out to ESPN and he had a 1-on-1 interview on First Take on Friday morning with Stephen A. Smith. It was a very interesting conversation between the two and maybe teams will decide to sign him after all. It is clear that Carmelo Anthony still wants to play in the NBA and it is just a matter of what happens at this point.

Anthony is not the player he once was, but Carmelo Anthony is still good enough to be on an NBA roster and play 20 minutes a night and score 10-15 points. He is only 35 years old. Anthony was a first-round pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets.

His only appearance in the conference finals was back in 2009 with Denver where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

Carmelo Anthony was then traded to the New York Knicks two years later. He played there until after the 2016-2017 season. Many New York fans didn’t want to deal with him anymore.

Anthony has had a rap throughout his career that he is a scorer first and not a very good teammate. I disagree about him being a bad teammate. It seems like he is sincere about being a very good teammate. Carmelo Anthony had a talk with Chris Paul after he was released by Houston.

Paul and Anthony are best friends. Chris Paul is playing in Oklahoma City now and the Thunder would not bring him back. I find it hard to believe teams like the San Antonio Spurs, the Utah Jazz, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers, and others.

In his career up to this point, Carmelo Anthony has averaged 24 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 3 APG, 0.5 BPG, and 1 SPG. He is most likely be a first ballot hall of famer. It is a shame that his NBA career is most likely over because no one wants him and Anthony is better than a lot of other players currently in the NBA.

This is the same thing as quarterback Colin Kaepernick not having a job as a quarterback in the NFL because of his political nonsense.
